Hot Flash Havoc: A Film of Menopausal Proportions

Hot Flash Havoc is enlightening, entertaining, humorous, profound, and is a crash-course in what you need to know about menopause. It has the power to be a life changing experience for every woman in your life.

Hot Flash Havoc is the most provocative and revealing film ever made about menopause. For the first time, this film sets the record straight about the Women's Health Initiative study released in 2002 which misrepresented that the hormonal replacement therapy being used by millions of women to treat the symptoms of menopause could actually increase the risk of heart attacks and cancer. This misinformation caused confusion, hysteria, and fear among women as well as healthcare providers, endangering the health and well being of millions of women, many of whom flushed their hormones down the toilet. This film not only sheds insightful light on the confusion stemming from a decade of misguided facts, but conveys poignant personal stories shared by real women and in-depth interviews with the world's most noted experts.

Hot Flash Havoc provides compelling information about menopause that will empower women for the Second Act of their lives. For more information about Hot Flash Havoc check out AbsolutelyInTheLoop.com.

Q&A

Q: Is this film like eating spinach: good for you but not a lot of fun to watch?

A: No. This film will make you laugh, will make you cry and will make you think. It is filled with attitude, animation, music, accessible information and humor.

Q: What is this movie about and how is it different from any other movie about menopause?

A: Menopause is not a disease. It is a stage of life and it can happen to women at any age over 20. We are not only addressing the problem, we are addressing the issues and we want women to know that they can be vital, alert and sexual into their 80’s and even into their 90”s. We show that women are outliving menopause today by 30 to 40 years. This is about quality of life.

Q: Why do you think it is important for women to know that they are outliving menopause by 30 to 40 years?

A: We know how to cosmetically fix things on the outside and now we know how to fix things on the inside like heart disease, osteoporosis, dry vaginas, sex drive, dry eyes, joint pain, hair loss, and hot flashes and many more physical problems.

Q: Why is there so much confusion around menopause in general and hormone replacement?

A: In another time, it was referred to as the “Change of Life.” So what does that mean? It meant to women and men that you could not have a baby anymore. Not only was it not talked about but no precautions were taken to prevent pregnancies. To most women, it meant you had lost your youth and society did not market to you. But today, 60% of women are either in perimenopause or menopause. If you thought women were not interested in cosmetics, fashion or sex, you have missed the biggest market in history.

Q: Why is there so much confusion about hormones?

A: First, you were told to take them and then (in2002) you were told that they would kill you either through breast cancer or heart disease. Thirty years of studies showed that hormones actually helped prevent osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer and keep normal body functions like skin elasticity, hair growth and sexual vitality alive. All of a sudden one study, the Women’s Health Initiative in 2002, announces that all of this is wrong and that you will die if you take hormones, leaving women distraught, confused and without solutions.

Q: Do women even know what Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone do in their bodies?

A: The movie addresses this question in an animated, fun and totally accessible manner that goes from puberty to post menopause.

Q: What kind of menopause does Hot Flash Havoc cover?

A: We cover menopause from natural menopause, to premature menopause, to surgical menopause like hysterectomies and chemically-induced menopause like chemotherapy.

Q: How many women are currently in menopause today?

A: The National Association of Menopause helped us identify that approximately 70,000,000 women are either in menopause or post menopause and that another 35,000,000 are coming into perimenopause. That is a lot of women.

Q: Who are the experts in the movie and where are they from? Why did you choose them and what are their areas of expertise?

A: We interview the top doctors, clinicians and researchers in the field surrounding menopause. We cover heart, bones, muscles, tissue, brain, sex and sexual dysfunction, loss of memory and numerous other subjects. We did not go to TV doctors or celebrities who talk about menopause, but we went to those that are currently researching and in the field. We got the real insider scoop and interviewed over

32 experts across the United States and from some of the country’s best universities.

Q: Who is the target audience?

A: This movie is for women and anyone who loves a woman, so I would assume just about anyone. We want this movie to be utilized to provide women with important information and access to experts on menopause. We believe that women’s organizations are our strongest advocates and can get the truth out about menopause, letting women know that they are sexually vital and important as they move into
