We hope that you can join us for a truly inspirational event on July 28at Junior League Houston at 1811 Briar Oaks Lane as Carla Powers shares her amazing story which she has captured in her book, Matches in the Gas Tank.
When Carla Powers was growing up in the Armstrong cult in East Texas, she didn't know that the world in which she now lives existed. The impoverished girl, whose fourth-grade-educated father was a violent pyromaniac, escaped the clutches of the Radio Church of God when she was 17 years old, and used her anger to fuel an insatiable desire to succeed. Her tremendous successes include finishing law school and passing the Bar at age 22, becoming the first female partner at a 100-person law firm at age 28, and heading world-wide litigation for a multi-national energy company.
We look forward to seeing you.
